Precision + Subtlety in Practice - CPD eligible
triyoga, Chelsea triyoga, SW3 5UZ triyoga
Anna Ashby will be offering a unique series of workshops each limited to 18 students. In this smaller group format, a learning environment with detailed instruction will refine and hone the practice allowing for precision and subtlety of experience. Attention to alignment and detail will encourage a more conscious and considered approach the lends itself to going deeper.
This workshop explores the lens of perception and how it plays a major role in the expression of a stable and easeful posture. The first stage of aligning a pose is to understand what is actually happening within the body as it responds to a pose’s shape. Various factors affect the body’s ability to fully receive what a pose offers - injury/condition, age, body shape, mindset, etc. The ability to perceive clearly and respond appropriately is at the root of yogic endeavour. To engage in postural practice that allows time to feel, understand dynamics of force and tension as it relates to the form, and seek clarity or balance in that relationship, embodies mature practice.
Category of poses: mainly standing with restorative and breath at beginning/end.
The workshop is ideal for teachers, teachers in training and experienced students who wish to reflect on the architecture of poses and sequencing furthering their understanding of modern postural yoga. The format allows for dialogue and questions.
Students are expected to have a mature practice of 3+ years. If you have questions about suitability of level please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
This workshop counts towards CPD requirements for all Yoga Alliance Professional members as well as for Yoga Alliance US.
